Apptopia, which describes itself as a “marketplace for developers, businesses and investors to buy and sell apps”, said it had brokered a $200,000 deal, which it said “reflects a milestone for the company as it continues to see greater interest from large financial and investment firms”.

The company “helped facilitate Bluecloud Solutions to sell [its] entire portfolio to newly-formed app fund, AppBin”.

The Apptopia marketplace is intended to allow developers to sell mobile apps, including ownership and intellectual property rights, source code, art assets, users, and more.

Jonathon Kay, its COO, said: “The interest for apps among the investment community has exploded in recent months. Acquisitions like this overwhelmingly demonstrate how big the opportunity is.”

Carter Thomas, who is behind Bluecloud, said: “My ambition is to become a top publisher in the mobile gaming space. To meet this goal, I need to streamline my portfolio for it to accelerate with the velocity I want.”
