Mobile marketing start-up Adcquire has launched a platform that uses gamification to enable brands to improve consumer engagement, retention, brand conversion and return on investment at the point of sale.

When users scan product barcodes using Adcquire’s free app, they are provided with interactive content through which they can earn rewards. The scanning process also provides brands with useful market intelligence, although the company noted that the act of scanning products does not reveal customer details, protecting their privacy.

"We've gamified the shopping experience for consumers while offering brands a new touch-point in store aisles where purchases happen,” said Adcquire co-founder and inventor David Snir.

"Consumers deserve to be rewarded for their continued patronage of brands and for their support during these tough years, and in turn, companies utilising Adcquire can also learn how to better serve their customers,” added Adcquire's COO Babak Motamedi.
