7-Eleven’s MVNO arrives in Singapore
After seeing success in the US and Canada, retail chain 7-Eleven is to launch its MVNO in Asia, reports RCRWireless News. The company will launch the service – known as ‘7-Connect’ – in 400 7-Eleven stores in Singapore using mobile operator M1’s 3G network.
M1 reports slip in 9-month profits
Singapore operator M1 has reported that its pre-tax profit for the nine months ended September 30 2008 declined 6.9 percent to S$139.9 million (US$94.5 million).

M1 posts flat profits on lower revenues in H1
Singaporean operator M1 posted flat profits on lower revenues for the six-month period ended 30 June, notes Telecompaper. Revenues were SGD376.9 million (US$282 million), down 7.9 percent from SGD409.3 million in 1H09.
Cellular News reports that Singapore’s MobileOne (M1) has announced a further upgrade of its HSPA+ network to support theoretical peak download speeds of up to 28Mb/s in selected areas.
