Ericsson claims HSPA world record
Ericsson says it will this week break its own HSPA world record with the world’s first demonstration of HSPA multi-carrier MIMO technology, providing peak downlink data rates of 56Mb/s, at the CTIA Wireless exhibition. HSPA multi-carrier technology with MIMO, which is currently being standardised, is scheduled for commercial deployment in 2010.
TeleGeography, citing a report in The Edge Daily, notes that Malaysian operator DiGi will set aside up to MYR150 million (US$42.4 million) of its total capital expenditure over the next three years for investment in its HSPA network and services in the Sabah and Penang regions.
