3 Group “continued its EBIT positive momentum from the second half of 2010,” reporting a positive EBIT figure for the first half of 2011, compared with a negative result for the prior year period, according to figures released by parent Hutchison Whampoa.

Hutchison’s 3 Group has finally reported a profit, almost eight years after starting services in Europe and Australia. For the full year ended 31 December 2010, the group – which has networks in the UK and Ireland, Italy, Australia, Sweden and Denmark – reported EBIT (Earnings Before Interest & Taxes) of HK$2.93 billion (US$ million).
