ZTE brings 5G-advanced innovations and success cases to 5G Summit & User Congress

The exciting advances of 5G-advanced technologies brings up to 10Gbps user experience to life realizes 10 times connectivity, and 10 times better coverage. At 5G Summit & User Congress 2023, ZTE showcases some of 5G-advanced innovations and success cases. The achievements deliver much improved user experiences for a variety of enhanced and new services, more capable cellular networks, lower cost, and more extensive application scenarios.

To meet the ultra-large capacity requirements in various scenarios, ZTE offers ultra-large bandwidth mmWave product and innovative mmWave micro BS solution MiCell. The mmWave  products support up to 1600MHz OBW, the best in the industry, achieving peak throughput of 28Gbps+. It has been trialed in China, Thailand and Malaysia. MiCell is industry’s first distributed mmWave micro BS solution with revolutionary architecture of intermediate frequency pooling. The innovative architecture meets new coverage and capacity requirements for enabling brand-new services such as new media and new immersive entertainment.

Dynamic Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) features beamforming with collaboration with base station and realizes cost-efficient mmWave deployment and super-low energy consumption, enabling seamless Gigabit user experience. Dynamic RIS 2.0 is the latest generation of this cutting-edge technology, making RIS smaller, lighter, greener and more cost-efficient and paving the way for large-scale commercial deployment. The dynamic RIS live demo showcases the remarkable advancements achieved through the deployment of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) in enhancing mmWave coverage. By leveraging dynamic RIS technology, the demo also demonstrates RIS beamforming techniques to effectively track users in motion and provide a consistently stable signal with 1.6Gbps downlink speed.

RedCAP+X, ZTE’s RedCap solution with other technology integration, aims at boosting vertical industry digitalization. ZTE RedCap+X solution can provide performance guarantee for the targeted RedCap applications. ZTE partnered with AIS (Advanced Info Service) to complete the first verification of 5G RedCAP at 2.6Ghz in Southeast Asia.

AI and 5G integration at the edge is crucial 

In terms of the constant evolution of mobile network, the businesses also have been diversified and become more complex. ZTE, as a leading communication solutions provider advocates base station native AI, aims to bring it closer to users and provides more fine-tuned strategy to improve all round efficiency. In addition, intent-driven solution helps enhance network operation intention-to-implementation almost in real-time. With native-AI, ZTE’s RAN Composer solution uses RF fingerprint to identify the user’s unique wireless characteristics, and leverages traffic pattern analysis for service-specific user experience guarantee. For B2C, video streaming user experience can be improved by 30%, resulting in total cell traffic increased by 10%. For B2B, vertical industries SLA requirements can be met, achieving 10ms & 99.99% reliability. For energy saving, a further 30% power saving can be achieved with introduction of base station native AI.

5G-advanced creates more private 5G opportunities

With private 5G development goes closer and deeper with the vertical industries, the requirements on 5G capabilities are also on the rise with use cases focusing increasingly more on core production. ZTE releases the white paper to share the understanding of industry demands and innovations. The white paper analyzes the importance of providing easy and effective deployment of 5G private network for industries. Moreover, as industrial field network has strong demands for deterministic assurance, it is crucial to ensure low latency and high-reliability connection. Cost efficiency and simplified O&M are extremely significant for enterprise users, so providing a digital O&M portal can help achieve more efficient end-to-end operation.

To meet these requirements, ZTE has released a series of new products and solutions including NodeEngine, TSN, FRER, and MSE N100 to empower 5G to integrate deeper with industrial production.

NodeEngine is the industry first 5G base station embedded computing solution, which enables cost efficient private 5G. It features low cost, fast deployment with easy commissioning, offering local traffic offloading and more functionalities such as QoS guarantee and high-precision positioning etc. ZTE provides TSN gateways compatible to multiple industrial standards for a vareity of industrial application scenarios, working with other technologies such as FRER to achieve ultra-low latency, ultra-low jitter and high-reliability deterministic connections for extremely time-sensitive applications with 4ms @99.999% and 1us jitter capabilities. The MSE N100 is an innovative and industry-leading portable test instrument designed for industry service simulation and optimization. It helps streamline private 5G acceptance test, as it can simulate service signal and implement acceptance test without interrupting the actual services.
