World Vision International’s Dr Jane Chege (Director, Research and M&E for Global Health) believes that standardising the way in which the industry measures mobile healthcare success is key to taking the sector mainstream. “As we scale up, we need to provide evidence that the lives of people have been transformed. The area of standardising is not about standardising the actual practise but standardising the measurement, in terms of inputs and outputs,” said Chege during her keynote presentation at the GSMA-mHA Mobile Health Summit 2012. “When it comes to issues of measurement it’s going to be very hard to show the world how we are progressing if we are all using different measurements. We need core measurements so we can compare.”
