Peter Chou, head of Taiwanese smartphone vendor HTC, argued that offering a seamless and simple user experience is critical to winning over consumers. “The end user doesn’t really care about the [technical] features of the OS, apps and services, what they really care is if it’s easy. That’s most important…. Consumers want all services. But they don’t want to spend time figuring out how to use them, they want to use whatever they want to use immediately,” he told delegates during his keynote presentation at Congress this year. “This is a huge challenge for us because how do we make all these elements work together? It’s so complicated. Integration is very important but nobody has all the pieces.”
