Ralph de la Vega, President and CEO of Mobility at AT&T, used his keynote at Mobile World Congress to fight what he described as industry sceptics that have a downbeat outlook on the mobile market. “These sceptics say we are facing market saturation, they say the growth we are seeing is going to slow down and will never recover. And they say wireless carriers will be left adapting to new technology and not help enable or create it,” he commented. “I’m here to address those sceptics and address what we need to do in the mobile ecosystem to ensure we secure our mobile future.” Key to this success, Vega urged, is the proficient allocation of spectrum.
