Verizon intros low-cost LG Windows Phone

18 MAY 2015

Verizon Wireless is to offer an LG-made Windows Phone device, which has been described as “affordable and simple to use”.

LG Lancet is said to be “the first Windows smartphone on Verizon with Advanced Calling 1.0”, offering HD voice calls to customers with other compatible handsets. It is the first Windows-powered device to support the operator’s service, and the 17th in its HD voice portfolio.

Otherwise, LG Lancet has an uninspiring feature set: it has a 4.5-inch LCD screen, 1.2GHz quadcore processor, 8MP rear and VGA front cameras, 8GB of onboard storage (4GB user accessible) and microSD slot.

It runs Windows Phone 8.1.

The LTE-enabled device is available online now for $5 per month over 24 months with the Verizon Edge device funding plan (or $120 outright).
