PARTNER CONTENT: At the TM Forum’s Digital Transformation World (DTW) 2024 event, during the Spotlight session, with the theme of Making it Real: B2B Business Growth and Operations, TM Forum, Huawei, and multiple carriers jointly released the Using ODA to Establish B2B BSS Reference Solution Architecture report officially.

Joann O’Brien, Vice President of Beyond Connectivity & Digital Ecosystems, TM Forum
This reference architecture is built upon the best practices and experiences of top-tier global carriers in the development of B2B services. It fully considers various service models including B2B, B2B2X, and others, and establishes a standardized reference architecture for future B2B service development by leveraging the TM Forum ODA framework. This architecture includes crucial domains and collaboration relationships such as sales management, revenue management, CPQ, and partner management. It serves as a valuable reference for carriers in their B2B service development and BSS system construction.
During the Spotlight session, TM Forum, Huawei, China Mobile, HKT, Uruguay Antel, and multiple other carriers shared and communicated their achievements and insights in advancing B2B business through the development of SME services, the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), and ICT solutions.

John Wan, Director of Software Marketing Dept., Global Technical Service Dept. (GTS), Huawei, highlighted that the advancement of 5G, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies is propelling innovation and growth in the industrial Internet sector. Carriers are expanding their reach into the business and service capabilities in vertical industries, opening collaborations, and developing new solutions to achieve progress and expansion in emerging domains. B2B services have higher ARPU and customer loyalty. However, B2B services are different from B2C services. B2B services need a strategic reconstruction of BSS capabilities to support B2B service development across various aspects such as customer acquisition, product design, charging & billing modes, customer needs, and operational modes. Hence, the TM Forum digital ecosystem project team has introduced the B2B BSS reference architecture with comprehensive research, validation, and enhancement, benefiting carriers, partners, and suppliers.
