A Siberian court adjourned today a hearing in Telenor’s appeal against US$1.7 billion in damages it had been ordered to pay Russia’s VimpelCom. Telenor is appealing a ruling in a suit brought by British Virgin Islands-based Farimex, a small shareholder in VimpelCom, which says the Russian group was hurt by Telenor’s reluctance to expand into Ukraine. The hearing will resume on 10 June.
