Masmovil in pole position for Yoigo as Zegona backs out
UK-based tech investor Zegona Communications missed the deadline to make a bid for a 75 per cent stake in TeliaSonera’s Spanish unit Yoigo due to “funding problems”, El Confidencial reported, allowing Masmovil to swoop in and make an offer of €550 million.
UK investment fund Zegona confirmed it “has entered into an exclusivity agreement with TeliaSonera” regarding its Spanish unit Yoigo, following “press speculation” last week that Zegona had bid more than €500 million for a 77 percent stake.
