Russias MTS to buy fixed-line operator
Dow Jones said Russia’s competition authority has approved mobile operator Mobile TeleSystems’ (MTS) application to buy its fixed-line affiliate, Comstar United TeleSystems (CMST.RS).

Russian and CIS mobile operator MTS saw its revenues fall by 23 percent year-on-year to US$2.022 billion in Q2, due mainly to depreciation in the ruble, reports Telecompaper.

Russian mobile operator MTS has closed the acquisition of 50.91 percent of Russian fixed-line operator Comstar, reports Telecompaper. MTS paid RUB39.14 billion for the stake, acquired from Sistema.
