Strategy Analytics claims that netbook vendors shipped 30.2 million units worldwide during 2009, as global volumes grew 79 percent annually. Top vendors in 2009 were Acer, Asus, HP, and Dell.

Omnifone wins at HP

The Guardian notes that British group Omnifone has clinched a crucial deal with Hewlett-Packard, the largest PC manufacturer in the world, to have its MusicStation unlimited track download service pre-loaded onto computers and laptops.

HP teams with Telefonica

HP and Telefonica today announced a mobile broadband partnership focused on embedded 3G connectivity in HP’s handheld and notebook products. The deal covers all of Telefonica’s markets in Europe and Latin America.

China Mobile extends 3G netbook range

Following on from the official Dell announcement yesterday, a China Tech News report claims that China Mobile has selected five other netbook manufacturers to provide kit with embedded TD-SCDMA 3G connectivity: Lenovo Group, Founder Technology, Tongfang, Haier and HP.
