NextWave signs Taiwanese WiMAX partners

dmedia System, a Taiwanese manufacturer of navigation and mobile devices, and NextWave Wireless have teamed up to begin development on an advanced mobile WiMAX device that will debut in the first half of 2009.

Google and HSBC back African Internet project

Reuters reports that Google and HSBC, Europe’s largest bank, have thrown their weight behind an ambitious plan to provide cheap, high-speed Web access to 3 billion people in Africa and other emerging markets.
