Samsung confirms Tab4 launch

02 APR 2014

Samsung unveiled its anticipated Galaxy Tab4 portfolio, updating the smartphone number one’s tablet range.

Available in 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch versions, all feature WXGA (1280×800) displays with ‘multi window’ function, to enable users to switch between apps and windows and easily drag-and-drop content.

The trio all run Android 4.4 (KitKat) and are powered by 1.2GHz quadcore processors. All feature 16GB of memory with a microSD expansion slot, with an 8GB version of the smallest (7-inch) tablet also available.

The company will also offer versions with LTE connectivity.

The specifications of the devices are hardly earth-shattering, meaning the vendor is likely to be able to price them competitively. Earlier this year, it announced a ‘Lite’ version of the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3, in order to compete in the lower-end of the tablet market.

Galaxy Tab4 will be available in black or white, with global availability in the current quarter.
