QuickPlay Media has announced plans to acquire a variety of network operations center assets of Qualcomm’s FLO TV. QuickPlay will take over FLO TV’s 30,000-square-foot data and network operations center in San Diego, and will use the facility to manage the capture and distribution of both live and on-demand content for a broad range of IP-enabled devices. Financial details were not disclosed. Qualcomm announced that it was suspending sales of the Flo TV service in October 2010 and closed the service in March this year. AT&T bought Qualcomm’s FCC licenses in the 700 MHz band.
