During his Mobile World Congress 2013 keynote, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop reiterated his belief that feature phones at lower price points and aimed at developing markets would be used to broaden the vendor’s target market beyond its high-end Lumia smartphones, and emphasised that such devices are also very much about connecting the next billion even though they are not “smartphones”.
