US regional mobile operator Leap Wireless yesterday posted a wider quarterly loss, hurt by higher operating expenses, but reported higher net customer additions and a lower churn rate for the quarter, notes Reuters. Earlier on Thursday, Leap’s rival MetroPCS reported a better-than-expected profit for the fourth quarter on strong subscriber growth and cost controls.
