South African operator Cell C agreed a deal to sell 1,400 existing mobile network towers and up to 1,800 masts that are in construction to American Tower Corporation, for a purchase price of approximately US$430 million. Cell C will be the “anchor tenant” for the purchased infrastructure, and the deal is expected to close early in 2011.
