Nokia today unveiled several new devices and services as it continues its high-profile expansion into new product areas amid declining profits.

Nokia has used its annual 'Nokia World' conference in Germany this week to announce a series of new APIs for its range of Ovi Internet services and a beta version of the Ovi Software Developer Kit (SDK).

The world’s largest handset vendor today introduced its first ‘LTE-capable’ modem. The Nokia device - RD-3 - is backwards compatible with the GSM family of technologies (eg HSPA) and will be used in development of LTE technology (planned for commercial launch next year).
