A new service launched by Vodacom of Tanzania and Western Union enables payments to be transferred from around the world to users of the mobile operator’s M-Pesa service. Payments can be made to 108,000 Western Union agents in 65 countries who will then make the transfer to mobile subscribers in Tanzania. Funds are receivable at 15,000 M-Pesa agents around the country.
