Visa has hit back at a report that Bill Gajda (pictured), its global head of mobile product, has left the company, as part of management changes in its mobile payments business.

“Today [Friday 30 August], a mobile trade publication erroneously reported innovation team changes at Visa.  Notably, the publication claimed that Bill Gajda has left Visa.  This is not true,” said a company blog.

In fact, the executive has a new job, Visa says: “Bill Gajda has a broader role as global head of strategic partnerships and is managing Visa’s relationships with mobile network operators, device manufacturers and platform providers.”

Gajda himself tweeted: “Still here at Visa, with a great new role”.

His departure was originally reported by NFC Times.

In addition, Visa said, “another inaccuracy in today’s reporting is the claim that Sam Shrauger is directly reporting to Visa President, Ryan McInerney”. The report had said that Schrauger’s role had been “strengthened” as “the key executive tasked with invigorating mobile and online commerce at Visa”.

Instead, Shrauger is reporting to Elizabeth Buse, who was recently appointed as global executive, solutions, a new global group set up to bring together product and client functions from across the company, the blog said.

However, NFC Times also reported that Jennifer Schulz, responsible for the V.me digital wallet, has left the company. Visa confirmed to Mobile World Live that Schulz had left.
