Visa and Visa Europe have certified six NFC-based smartphones from Samsung, LG and RIM to use the credit card's contactless payWave application on SIM cards. The announcement means the handsets have been added to the list of product that are in line with Visa’s payWave specifications and can now be commercially deployed by financial institutions. Four of the handsets are BlackBerry devices and one each from Samsung and LG. They all carry a payWave app on a secure SIM card, as well as featuring NFC technology. They are the Samsung Galaxy SII, LG Optimus NET NFC, BlackBerry Bold 9900, BlackBerry Bold 9790, BlackBerry Curve 9360 and BlackBerry Curve 9380.
