Users will be able to send Viber Out top-ups to friends and family back home thanks to an agreement between the messaging app and mobile money hub TransferTo.

Viber joined TransferTo’s B2B mobile payment network with the aim of enhancing the experience of its users, boosting its global reach and increasing the revenue from its Viber Out service. The messaging app claims to have “over 800 million unique registered users”.

TransferTo’s money hub offers new ways for Viber Out credit to be purchased globally through retailers, mobile operators and payment services.

Viber Out is a service that enables the app’s users to call any phone number, including numbers that have not downloaded the Viber app.

TransferTo enables money and mobile top-ups to be sent as remittances between users in different countries. Striking a deal with Viber for its credits seems like a natural extension of its existing services.
