Telenor Pakistan’s Easypaisa mobile money venture will enable UK bank Standard Chartered to offer a payment service to its corporate clients in the country.

Using the Straight2Bank Wallet, the bank’s clients can send out payments to recipients’ Easypaisa mobile accounts.

The announcement mentions both NGOs and FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) companies in Pakistan as possible users of the new service.

Corporate clients will be able to send cash to recipients who do not have bank accounts by using only a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number as means of identification.

Standard Chartered’s Straight2Bank Wallet allows recipients to cash out their payments from any of 70,000 Easypaisa outlets across 800 cities in Pakistan.
