SingTel is working with Visa to link the credit card giant’s pre-paid accounts with its mCash mobile money accounts.

The move will enable SingTel subscribers in Singapore and Australia, where subsidiary Optus is the second largest operator, to make payments for goods and services from their mCash account using their NFC-based smartphone where Visa’s payWave technology is present.

In addition, subscribers will be able to make online transactions by entering their Visa prepaid account number linked to their mCash account.

The aim is to jointly launch a service in early 2014.
