Samsung Pay attracted one million users in South Korea since its launch over two months ago, the company announced.

The number of average daily payments on the service rose to 100,000 recently, with most of the transactions being made at convenience stores, department stores, supermarkets and restaurants.

The volume in average daily payments handled by Samsung Pay increased from KRW800 million ($708,000) shortly after launch to over KRW2 billion today. Cumulative payments reached more than KRW100 billion.

The South Korean vendor announced figures for the payment service only once before, back on 22 September. At that time, it said accumulated transaction volumes exceeded $30 million.
