Following a US launch in the autumn, the next market where Google will launch its wallet service will be the UK in the first quarter of next year, according to a report in French business newspaper Les Echos.  The search giant will launch a trial of its NFC-based wallet service in London at the start of 2012, says the report. The aim would be to have the service operational in time for next summer’s London 2012 Olympics, it says. The company is in talks with a number of possible partners including banks as well as French payments solutions provider Ingenico.
