PayPal, through the launch of a new SDK (software development kit) for Here, its mobile payments solution, is aiming to make merchants’ lives easier by coordinating offline and online sales.

The PayPay Here SDK is available for ‘key partners’ – including GoDaddy and ECwid – which target merchants. GoDaddy is a technology provider dedicated to small businesses, while Ecwid helps businesses create online storefronts.

By integrating their native apps with the new SDK, PayPal says Ecwid and GoDaddy can help their merchants provide a seamless buying experience for in-store customers, and, in turn, drive cross-channel sales.

With the Ecwid collaboration, adds PayPal, merchants are able to link their in-store and on-mobile sales with their existing online sales data and inventory.

The new PayPal Here SDK also brings new features and functionality. These include the ability to interact with credit card readers so customers can easily swipe their card at the merchant’s point-of-sale.

Merchants can also manage CRM and inventory, create and maintain invoices, calculate totals, discounts and taxes, and – says PayPal – “provide a more personalised and engaging customer experience at checkout”.
