Indian vendor Mahindra Comviva struck an agreement with Pole SCS (Secured Communicating Solutions), a technology cluster in the Province Alpes Cote d’Azur region, whose participants include Gemalto, ST Microelectronics, Inside Secure, Orange and Telecom Italia.

Pole SCS develops contactless, mobile and secure proximity solutions.

The two companies established what they termed as a collaborative framework to work on a number of initiatives, covering trust technologies both remote, such as digital identity, and proximity, including NFC.

The partners will make a full assessment of new cloud-based trust technologies such as Host Card Emulation (HCE) Hybrid and Smart Tokenisation. HCE Hybrid is a way to improve the security of Hosted Card Emulation by adding hardware, network and contextual parameters.

Smart tokenisation, which is backed by the likes of Visa and Mastercard, enables P2P (person-to-person) and P2M (person-to-machine) money and other transactions.

The partners will also look at innovation for mobile point of sale solutions for merchants using tokenisation and cloud, an increasingly popular area.
