Google turns to apps for wallet boost

10 JUL 2013

Google is offering discounts to consumers on popular apps, providing they pay with the search giant’s slow-growing wallet service.

Eight brands are offering £20 off the next discount to users who sign up, add a credit or debit card and then checkout with Google Wallet, according to the company’s commerce blog.

The brands are airbnb, Expedia, Fancy, newegg.com, priceline.com, Ruelala, Tabbedout and Uber.
