G-Xchange, a subsidiary of Globe Telecom, is partnering with Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) to provide mobile money services to GCash and RCBC account holders.

Under the partnership, GCash will provide mobile accessibility to the customers of RCBC, which caters to the unbanked Filipino market. RCBC customers will be able to transfer funds to their GCash accounts through their mobile phones, as well as sending and receiving funds from another GCash account holder.

Account holders simply have to dial *119# to register to access various mobile banking services that include balance inquiry, as well as GCash transfer to RCBC account and RCBC fund transfer to GCash.

Putting mobility first for financial transactions is one of the biggest steps a monetary system can make for financial inclusion, according to Gary Villanueva, executive vice president and head of RCBC’s global transaction banking.

“By putting together the RCBC MyWallet and RCBC AccessOne with GCash, we aim to make available a full suite of services at the least possible cost for the unbanked Filipino anytime, anywhere,” he said.
