Philippine operator and money pioneer Globe Telecom is upgrading its GCash service to address new requirements, including bulk payment services for salaries and government disbursements.

“GCash has come a long way in solving financial inclusion challenges in the Philippines,” said Albert Tinio, GXI chief executive officer.

G-Xchange Inc (GXI) is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Globe, which will upgrade its money service with the latest version of the Amdocs Mobile Financial Services product.

“This key system enhancement will enable us to realise new revenue streams with new services targeting new segments,” said Tinio.

In addition to upgrading GXI’s system, the vendor will provide “end-to-end delivery services including project scope analysis, development, deployment, testing, capacity analysis and ongoing support services.”
