Telefonica Germany, Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone have launched a new scheme that enables users to gain admission to a leading museum by using a QR code on their handset screen. The offer, which is for Berlin’s flagship Pergamon museum, is part of the three operators’ mpass mobile payment service. Users buy an advanced ticket for the museum by loading an internet address on their smartphones. The ticket is added to their phone bill and a MMS containing the QR code is sent to their handset. Then the user only needs to flash the QR code on the screen of their handset to gain admission to the museum.
