VIDEO INTERVIEW: Sick and tired of queuing up to buy goods? Fed up, perhaps, from having to tap in your credit or debit card details every time you want to make an online purchase? Richard Harris, CEO and co-founder of UK start-up Ensygnia, reckons he has the answer.

“We allow users to go from looking to buying in under 10 seconds,” he told Mobile World Live in a recent interview.

Harris describes the company’s UK-patented Onescan app, which does not rely on NFC, as an “omni-channel solution”. He said it had already generated lots of interest from both online and physical retail outlets.

“All you need is a device with a camera,” he said. “For merchants, you can turn any screen into a point of sale.”

He added that system installation takes less than a day’s work of integration. It also offers physical retailers the chance to cut down on lengthy queuing, which, Harris added, wouldn’t be tolerated online.
