US payments vendor Braintree is partnering with Branding Brand, a mobile app provider which works with leading retailers.

The partnership makes it more likely that the likes of American Eagle Outfitters, Costco, Crate &Barrel, Ralph Lauren and Sephora will include Braintree’s payment system within their mobile apps, said the vendor.

Braintree’s payments system, which is called Venmo Touch, has just come out of beta and will now be available to all the vendor’s existing customers.

Venmo Touch enables consumers to make in-app payments by tapping a button rather than re-entering credit card details for each app.

Braintree acquired Venmo, the firm which originally developed the mobile payments technology, last summer.

The vendor said its volume of mobile transactions has grown to more than $2 billion on an annualised basis out of a total volume of $8 billion.
