Western Union is joining with Canadian mobile-payments firm EnStream to allow EnStream’s customers to send and receive money via their smartphones, reports The Wall Street Joutnal.  The service, which is slated to start in Canada in November, will let users of EnStream’s Zoompass “mobile wallet” service transfer funds via their smartphones to and from Western Union offices around the world. It will also let Zoompass users send money directly to the phones of customers in other countries, like the Philippines, where Western Union offers a mobile money-transfer service through local wireless carriers.
