Nicholas Valeriani has been chosen as chief executive of the West Health Institute which was formerly known as the West Wireless Health Institute. Valeriani’s background is with pharma giant Johnson & Johnson where he spent 34 years in a variety of executive positions.

Wireless has been at the heart of various initiatives backed by Gary and Mary West but the current renaming (which drops the ‘wireless’ word) “better reflects the broad work required to lower health care costs”, says the organisation.

“While wireless plays an important role in lowering costs, it alone will not solve the health care cost crisis,” says the statement which also highlights its newly launched West Health Incubator.
