The  Wellcome Trust, a high profile UK charity, has bought a stake in Airstrip Technologies.  The size of the investment and stake purchased was not stated in the announcement, although Dow Jones puts a figure of “more than US$10 million” on the investment.

Arstrip says it will primarily use the investment to develop its platform that enables health professionals to access data housed within electronic health records. In June this year, the company announced that it would be expanding its platform so that it offers both real-time data generated by medical devices, as well as other current and historical patient data that is stored in a variety of health records.

Airstrip is a high profile mobile health firm whose other backers include Qualcomm which earlier this year made an undisclosed investment in it.
