Telegeography reports that Vodafone Germany has confirmed plans to roll out LTE technology over the next three years, after the company secured two paired blocks of 5MHz spectrum in the 800MHz band for EUR1.21 billion (US$1.52 billion) in May. Vodafone will first concentrate on upgrading existing base stations in so-called ‘white spots’ (rural areas that are currently without broadband access), then plans to deploy the technology in the country’s main cities.
