India’s Vodafone Essar today said it has placed equipment orders with Nokia Siemens Networks and Ericsson for the rollout of its 3G network, reports Dow Jones Newswires. Ericsson will implement and manage the Mumbai-based company’s high-speed network in the Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata circles while NSN will service the circles of Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, east of Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, excluding Kolkata. These circles, along with Chennai and Goa, cover more than 60 percent of Vodafone Essar’s customer base, the firm said.
