Vodafone has said there is no “formal sale process” underway concerning 7,000 mobile towers owned by its India unit, after a television report said that Vodafone Essar was looking to sell the towers. The report said Vodafone Essar’s 7,000 towers across six telecoms zones were valued at INR20 billion (US$450 million), notes Reuters. Indian telecoms infrastructure firms GTL Infrastructure, Tata Quippo, and Reliance Infratel were named as likely bidders.
