Vietnamese operators MobiFone and Vinaphone are to merge as part of industry restructuring plans, according to Cellular News. The plan, which still needs final government approval, is the result of a decision that limits any company from owning more than 20 percent in multiple networks. State-controlled Vietnam Post and Telecommunication Group owns both networks so must merge them or be forced to sell one of the assets.
