Live from the mHealth Summit, Washington DC: US mobile operator Verizon Wireless is developing a range of digital healthcare solutions covering chonic care management, clinician productivity and virtual care. Its new digital care management solution will be built on a cloud-based platform and connected medical devices from partners such as Entra Health. The operator says it will differentiate itself from rivals with its ability to integrate biometric devices and deliver personalised care plans via mobile devices.

Verizon Wireless’  virtual care solution will leverage LTE technology so that users can experience a virtual healthcare visit via a smartphone or tablet and video technology. “Verizon Wireless is committed to the healthcare vertical, and we feel that medical practitioners need the best network to accomplish their goals and run efficient practices,” said Michael Tighe (pictured), executive director, mHealth solutions, Verizon Wireless. In another indication of the operator’s interest in the mobile health market, John Stratton, the operator’s chief operating officer, is a keynote speaker at this week’s summit.
