US number-one operator Verizon Wireless has denied it has been blocking the Google Wallet payment app on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone after a Google spokesman told the Wall Street Journal that this was the case. A spokesman for the operator told the paper that it is in talks with Google about the service – which enables customers to make contactless payments using the handset – as it needs to be “integrated into a new, secure and proprietary hardware element in our phones.”
