Employees of US operator Verizon Wireless have made what the company says is the world’s first voice over LTE call using a commercial LTE network. The call was made using a Android-based LG Revolution smartphone. The operator will use the same handsets to demonstate the VoLTE service next week at the GSMA Mobile World Congress. However, no commercial based on the technology is expected until 2012.
