CDMA operator US Cellular will next month launch an LTE network that will cover 25 percent of its customers and will coincide with the launch of the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE mobile tablet, followed “shortly” by the Samsung Galaxy S Aviator LTE smartphone. The March rollout of LTE includes select cities in Iowa, Wisconsin, Maine, North Carolina, Texas and Oklahoma, including some of US Cellular's biggest markets such as Milwaukee, Madison and Racine, Wis.; Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Davenport, Iowa; Portland and Bangor, Maine; and Greenville, N.C. US Cellular claims to be the first wireless carrier to offer LTE in several of these markets. The next wave of its LTE market launches will be announced later this month.
