U.S. Bank’s Accelapay app wins 2011
Paybefore Award

Paybefore has chosen the U.S. Bank’s AccelaPay mobile banking application as a 2011 Paybefore Awards winner in the Best Virtual or Mobile Prepaid Application category.

The awards are presented annually by Prepaid Media, whose Paybefore publications are a source of industry information for the global prepaid community.

The U.S. Bank AccelaPay Visa is a reloadable prepaid card designed to replace costly paper checks for businesses with recurring cash disbursement activities, such as payroll, commissions, travel advances and insurance claim distributions.

With technology developed by Monitise, cardholders can use the AccelaPay mobile banking application to check their balance, pay bills, receive account alerts and view mini-statements on the go.

U.S. Bank is working in partnership
with Monitise Americas, a global
mobile banking provider for financial
institutions, and FIS, a global
payments technology provider, to use
the most advanced financial management
technology available to provide this
service.

“We are honoured to be chosen by Paybefore as a winner in this category,” said Kevin Morrison, retail payment solutions senior vice president and prepaid business manager. “U.S. Bank is proud to be a prepaid leader and innovator with our AccelaPay application, which is the first full-suite mobile banking solution with bill pay capabilities in the prepaid marketplace.”

The U.S. Bank AccelaPay mobile banking application was selected by a panel of five industry experts who served as judges for this year’s competition, which included a record number of entries from around the world.

“Paybefore Awards were created to celebrate the innovators in our industry who are using prepaid to transform payments with ever-more efficient and accessible products,” said Loraine DeBonis, Paybefore editor in chief and chair of the judging panel. “Our industry is growing rapidly because of companies like U.S. Bank, FIS and Monitise Americas, who continually improve their products and services or create new ones. We are proud to recognise their contributions to advancing the prepaid industry.”
